When Christmas Becomes More Than Just Another Day
Hi guys, guess who’s birthday is today? Yeah, you guessed it right — it’s baby Jesus! Before diving into the heart of Christmas, have you ever wondered when exactly Jesus was born? While December 25th is celebrated worldwide, the actual date remains a mystery.
Research and history have speculated it could be in the spring or early fall, but does it matter? What matters is what His birth signifies — love, hope, and the gift of salvation.
This year’s Christmas has been truly special, and not just because I’m celebrating it in a completely different city and country. It was also the first Christmas when anyone would ask me the magical question: “What do you want for Christmas?” It was a really surprising question that I found so hard to respond to because I never expected Christmas should be more than another day.
On Christmas Eve I had a call with a friend and we got joking about how Chicken is now expensive I asked him a question but why is chicken associated with Christmas, does anyone know??
Hmmm, or is it because chicken sounded when Peter denied Jesus? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. I’m yet to get my answer if you have or know the answer, I will be in the comment area.
This question got me laughing and thinking at the same time, but of course, I can’t overthink it but enjoy my Christmas with a lot of chicken.
This alone made this Christmas feel different. But the true magic happened when I joined my sister and her family for the day.
Let me set the scene for you: everyone was dressed in matching outfits — coordinated and picture-perfect. I’ve seen this on social media a hundred times before, but being part of it was a whole other vibe.
Watching everyone laugh, pose for pictures, and genuinely enjoy the moment was heartwarming. It felt nice to be seen, to feel like I was part of a living, breathing Christmas postcard, also a funny scene happened when the husband wore a cardigan on his pajamas and how the kids and the wife were persuading him to off it so only the Xmas pajamas show was very funny and beautiful to see.
For years, Christmas for me has felt like just another day. Sure, there’s the food, maybe a movie or two, but that deeper sense of celebration and connection always seemed like something other people experienced — something I’d scroll past on Instagram and TikTok. But this year? This year was different. I wasn’t just watching the vibe; I was living it.
It’s a life-changing experience to truly celebrate Christmas as Christmas and not just another day. To laugh until your cheeks hurt, to enjoy simple traditions like family dinners, and to soak in the warmth that comes from being surrounded by loved ones — it’s a reminder of what this season is all about.
The city I’m in has its unique charm during Christmas. The markets are bustling with laughter, the aroma of mulled wine and roasted chestnuts fills the air, and the lights twinkle against the cold winter nights. But as much as I love the festive sights, nothing compares to the joy of being with family, of sharing in their traditions, and of creating memories that will last a lifetime.
So here’s to a Christmas full of surprises, firsts, and beautiful moments! Wherever you are, whether you’re surrounded by loved ones or simply reflecting on the year gone by, I hope your day is filled with joy, laughter, and the kind of moments that make you feel truly alive.
Let’s share stories in the comments — what’s making this Christmas special for you? Have you joined in on matching outfits or tried something new this year? Or maybe you’re finally experiencing Christmas as more than just another day. Whatever it is, I’d love to hear your stories!
Thank you for celebrating the 2024 Christmas with me, a Christmas to cherish.
Cheers to love, light, and a Merry Christmas! 🌟 and holla!!! Jesus was born 🥰🥰🥰🥰.
